Commencement Cap and Gown
Order Your Cap & Gown
All students who attend the commencement ceremony must wear the black cap and gown appropriate to their degree – bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral graduates all have different regalia. Additionally, bachelor’s require a tassel that will be determined by their degree; master’s will require a black tassel and a hood that is determined by degree. You will not be allowed to participate in your designated commencement ceremony if you do not have the appropriate regalia to wear.
In accordance with RCW 28A.600.500, members of a federally recognized tribe are welcome to wear traditional tribal regalia or objects of cultural significance.
Bachelor’s and Master’s Graduates:
Regalia will be available to pre-order late-March to late-April from Josten's with special early buying deals. In late-March, the Western AS Bookstore will send more information and a link to the buying portal to those eligible to walk at the June Commencement. Anyone who missed the early-buy will be able to continue to pre-order their regalia from the Western AS Bookstore beginning May 1.
You will be able to pick-up your regalia at the Grad Celebration on June 3 and 4 in the Multi-Purpose Room in the Viking Union. After that time, pre-orders will be available for pickup at the Western AS Bookstore. If you are unable to pick-up in person, there will be an option for shipping when you pre-order.
The Western AS Bookstore’s online regalia shop will be closed June 1-5 to allow the Western AS Bookstore to focus on preparing all orders submitted. Starting June 6, you can purchase online again for in-store pickup only.
