2023-24 Diplomas

Winter 2024: Digital diplomas are scheduled for issuance beginning April 12; paper diplomas should go out in late April. Digital diploma claim information is sent to student external (non-wwu.edu) email.

Fall 2023: Digital diplomas were issued on January 5; paper diplomas were sent starting in late January.

Please note: For delayed awards due to missing or incomplete coursework, diplomas are issued after all requirements are completed. 

Original Diplomas

Diplomas are mailed six to eight weeks after the close of the quarter to the diploma address that you indicated on your degree application.

Starting with the class of Fall 2023, new graduates will receive both paper and secure digital diplomas. Digital diplomas will be issued in advance of the paper copy. A few weeks after the end of the quarter, a link to claim your digital diploma will be sent to the external (non-Western) email address indicated on your degree application.

If you need help with claiming your digital diploma or have received your digital copy, but not your paper diploma,
please contact Parchment customer support.

Please note: Participation in Commencement does not guarantee that you have completed your degree and truly graduated. Only when all program requirements are satisfactorily completed is your degree awarded. If you have incomplete or in-progress coursework, your degree cannot be awarded until all requirements are satisfied, which will delay issuance of your diploma.

Replacement or Duplicate Diplomas

Order replacement/duplicate diplomas through Parchment.

Parchment will email you a link to claim your digital diploma and review your mailing address for any hard copies ordered after Western has confirmed your diploma details and approved the reissue (usually within 3-5 business days).

  1. Log in or create an account with Parchment.
  2. Select the option to order a replacement/reprinted diploma.
  3. When asked for a delivery destination, select “I’m sending to myself or another individual”, then select the option to send the hard copy to yourself.
  4. Toggle the delivery method from “Electronic” to “Print & Mailed” to enter the delivery address for your hard-copy diploma. Don’t worry, you’ll still get the electronic one, too!
  5. Confirm your order details and enter your diploma display name (your name as it should appear on your diploma).
  6. Complete payment.

Note: Regardless of where your hard-copy diploma is being mailed, the link to claim your digital diploma will be sent to the email address associated with your Parchment account.

  1. Log in or create an account with Parchment.
  2. Select the option to order a replacement/reprinted diploma.
  3. On the delivery selection screen, please select “I’m sending to myself or another individual”, then “I’m sending to myself.”
  4. Confirm your order details and enter your diploma display name (your name as it should appear on your diploma).
  5. Complete payment.

Note: Digital diplomas can only be sent to you, the alum. Once claimed, you’re welcome to share your diploma with anyone else via verified link, secure download, or social media!

More Options

Hard-copy replacement/duplicate diplomas can still be ordered by mail using our Mail-In Diploma Request Form. Mail your completed and signed request form to the Registrar’s Office with a check payable to Western Washington University.

Please note that digital diplomas are only available through Parchment and cannot be ordered by mail.
