Ceremony Accessibility

This event is intended for all participants, including those with apparent or non-apparent disabilities. ASL interpretation and live captioning is provided on the livestream, as well as a live transcript. Please contact the Commencement Team at Commencement@wwu.edu with any other accessibility needs. Advanced notice is appreciated and sometimes necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs.

Graduate Accessibility

Graduates who need accessibility accommodations can contact the Disability Access Center (DAC) and/or the commencement team. We look forward to helping make this a celebratory ceremony for you.

Guest Accessibility

For guests attending the ceremony in-person in Carver Gym, the commencement team has reserved seating (first come, first seated) for guests with mobility limitations, for guests in a wheelchair, and for guests who need sign language interpretation. This is extended to the guest plus one companion. Please check-in with an usher who can direct you to accessible seating.

For guests with mobility limitations, we suggest parking in the disability parking lot located in lot 9G, which is less than a block from Carver Gym and is fairly level. We have a six-passenger golf cart circling this lot that can provide drop off to the accessible entrance on the south side of Carver, if needed. We have shuttles (one being ADA accessible, which can accommodate two wheelchairs at a time) running between the C lots and Carver Gym. The shuttles will drop guests off near the entrance to the gym.

If you have questions or would like more detailed information about accommodations for guests please contact commencement staff at Commencement@wwu.edu.
