Commencement Parking

• Campus parking is free on commencement day and available in most lots.
• Visitors must observe regulations for posted disability parking and individually reserved spaces.
• Guests are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion and to allow for travel time between the parking lots and the Carver Academic Facility.

Those with accessibility or limited mobility requirements have two different options for parking:

• We have reserved the 9G parking lot, which is the closest lot to Carver Gym (less than a quarter of a mile) with the most level path to the gym entrance. Depending on which end of the lot you park in, there will still be a one-to-two block walk around the SMATE building to get to Carver Gym. There will be a golf cart shuttle that will take guests with limited mobility from the 9G parking lot to the front entrance into Carver Gym.
• There is also a Bellair shuttle that travels between the Upper C lot and Carver Gym, so the other option is to park as close to the Upper C lot as possible and take the shuttle, which will drop you off on the north side of Carver Gym. Please note that the C lots are a about a three-quarter to a one-mile walk to Carver Gym if you choose to not take the shuttle.

For those parking in the south campus parking lots (C lots), there will be a shuttle service available from the upper C lots off Bill McDonald Parkway just south of Wade King Student Recreation Center that will drop off near the entrance to Carver Gym. Please note that it is an approximately one-mile walk from the south campus parking lots to Carver Gym if you do not take the shuttle.

There are three (3) shuttle buses that travel between the two stops (upper C log and Carver Gym) between 8:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

One of the three shuttle buses is ADA-equipped which will accommodate two wheelchairs per route. Guests in wheelchairs may park in the C lots and wait for the shuttle bus or they may park in the designated accessibility lot 9G lot.

Guests are welcome to bring service dogs on the shuttles provided the service dog sits quietly on your lap or at your feet. Emotional support animals are not permitted on shuttles.

We encourage public transportation whenever possible. Please visit the WTA website for schedules and routes. 

Southbound I-5

• Take the Samish Way EXIT 252. At the top of the off ramp, turn RIGHT onto S Samish Way.
• Take an immediate LEFT at the light, onto Bill McDonald Pkwy.
• Drive about a mile on Bill McDonald Pkwy. and either turn RIGHT on S. College Drive to access the 12G parking lot in front of Fairhaven College or the lower “C” lot or stay on Bill McDonald Pkwy. to park in the Upper/West “C” lots.

Northbound I-5

• Take the Samish Way EXIT 252 (this is just past the Fairhaven exit).
• At the top of the off ramp, turn left onto S Samish Way.
• At the first light, take a left to stay on S Samish Way (over freeway).
• At the second light, turn left onto Bill McDonald Pkwy.
• Drive about a mile on Bill McDonald Pkwy. and either turn RIGHT on S. College Drive to access the 12G parking lot in front of Fairhaven College or the lower “C” lot or stay on Bill McDonald Pkwy. to park in the Upper/West “C” lots.
