Degree Application

Note: We are shifting our methods for degree application and evaluation as we work together to protect the health and wellness of our community. You may apply for or change your degree remotely following the instructions below. For assistance or questions, please email and we will get back to you shortly. 

Apply For Your Degree

  1. Contact your department for major/minor evaluation(s). They can document approval of the evaluation by recording a Note in Degree Works (no paperwork required), or can email you an electronically-signed PDF or scanned evaluation. Tip: You can click on your advisor’s name in Degree Works to open an email to them!
  2. After all major/minor evaluations have been completed, submit a Degree Application together with any electronic evaluations to


     *CBE Students: Contact your Department Manager for major/minor evaluation(s). 

  • Fairhaven Students: Contact the main office at Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies.

  • Off-Campus Extension Program Students: Contact your program coordinator for deadlines and application information. Staff may have earlier deadlines to allow for processing time.

  • Master's students: Contact the Graduate School at 360-650-3170 for degree completion deadlines and procedures.

$50 - Degree application fee

$45 - Additional late fee after priority degree application deadline

Change your planned graduation quarter (no fee):

  1. If you know your new graduation quarter, email a Degree Reapplication to
  2. If you have previously applied to graduate, but are not sure of your new graduation quarter, email to inactivate your degree application. When you determine your new graduation quarter, you will reactivate your degree file by submitting a Degree Reapplication.



Does my Degree Evaluation Need Updates?

If Financial Aid is requesting an updated degree evaluation, complete any applicable documentation and submit to the Registrar's Office:

  • Obtain approval from department via Degree Works Notes for any changes in advisor-approved courses
  • Declare/Submit new Major/Minor Evaluations
  • Submit Degree Evaluation Update Request

If you are changing your graduation quarter, submit a Degree Reapplication (no fee). If you want to cancel your degree application while you plan for a new graduation quarter, email from your student email and ask us to deactivate your degree file. Reactivate your degree file later by submitting a Degree Reapplication.

If you are adding or changing a major/minor on your Degree Evaluation (examples: Minor Evaluation was not originally submitted with the application, catalog year update, new declaration), then submit a signed Major/ Minor Evaluation to along with a Degree Evaluation Update Request if additional coursework is remaining.

If you registered for different courses than listed on your Degree Evaluation and they are correctly displaying in Degree Works, then no action is required unless requested by Financial Aid. If the courses are not applying towards requirements in Degree Works, you will need to contact your department to approve the alternate coursework via Degree Works Notes.

If you are registered for the same courses as on your Degree Evaluation, but in different quarters, no action is required unless requested by Financial Aid.
